About the Author:

Bruce Coville has received over a dozen Children's Choice Awards, and has written more than ninety popular books for young people, including MY TEACHER IS AN ALIEN, INTO THE LAND OF THE UNICORNS, SONG OF THE WANDERER, and THE MONSTER'S RING. His most recent novel, DARK WHISPERS, is the third book in his beloved Unicorn Chronicles series. He lives in Syracuse, New York, with his wife, Katherine.

From AudioFile:

The third book in the Unicorn Chronicles is easier to understand if one is familiar with the background of the earlier books. Two plots are woven together. Cara Diana Hunter is on a quest for a critical story, and her father is on a journey in search of his wife. Transitions between the two tales are signaled by musical interludes that are helpful in keeping the listener grounded. The cast is strong, with a wide range of voices. At times, Cara and her little companion, the Squijim, are jarringly loud and shrillas if to emphasize the tension of the plot. For the most part, however, the performers allow the story to create the mood and provide dimension to their characters. J.E.M. AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
