This is an Audio CD which traces 100 years worth of the sounds of farm power equipment sold in the USA during the 20th century.
The equipment starts with steam engines and ends up with modern day turbo-diesel powerplants. This compilation features 36 brands and 124 different models. The playing time is 74 minutes. The recordings were made in digital stereo and professionally computer-edited.
The CD opens with the sounds of a team of horses plowing and leads into a brief narrative introduction. After the introduction, the pattern of narrative model introdution (Year-Make-Model) and equipment sound (average of 30 seconds each) is repeated through the end of the CD. Recordings are sequenced by model year of the equipment, from oldest to newest.
The front and rear of the CD is a colorful blend of actual equipment photos and graphics. An insert, which features additional statistics on each piece of equipment, is included with the CD.
