Albert Staehle was a popular American illustrator from the late 1930s into the mid-1960s. He created the first three Smokey Bear posters for the U.S. Forest Service (1945 to 1947) and was a prolific illustrator of magazine and billboard advertising. This book tells the artist's story and that of his famous artistic creation, the Cocker Spaniel Butch, the real Cockers who were the artist's models and loved pets. This is also a collector's guide.
