You will never have a more enjoyable time learning economics. And if you think that deflation is easy to combat - if you think that the government can combat deflation by merely printing more money - well, then you desperately need to read this book. This is an action-adventure story that will open your eyes to a terrifying reality. This country is in a hole far worse than you've been told. The problem is not just merely a bunch of bad loans or some huge derivatives exposure. Our country's money supply is in the process of disappearing. Written in late 2006, this book correctly predicted the stock market crash and the subsequent deflationary depression. People laughed at the author in 2007 for predicting deflation. The government can always just print more money, they said. The rest is history. The book, however, takes the reader much further down the economic timeline. What happens when more than 25% of our population no longer has money for food, gasoline .. and illegal drugs? The typical American lacks the character to wear a coat, a tie and a hat while patiently standing in a soup line. This book describes what is really going to happen when pampered Americans are denied. While you'll enjoy the action and the drama of the story, we are all facing a terrifying new world.
