On a wet, rainy day in Jacksonville, Florida, the Surface family played a game called Jacksonville from A to Z. The rules of the game were simple: each player was asked to name a Jacksonville landmark, characteristic or historical figure beginning with each letter of the alphabet. What started a fun way to lear about Jacksonville - and relieve boredom on a dreary day - evolved into a great educational experience in teamwork, book publishing and philanthropy. Jamie (10) and Peyton (8) attend Riverside Presbyterian School. Heather worked for the city of Jacksonville for nearly ten years and was the director of the Jacksonville Super Bowl Host Committee. Today, Heather operates a public relations and marketing consulting firm. She is married to Frank Surface, a Jacksonville native.
