Synopsis
A real diary written while Amanda lived in the Mississippi Delta on her family's plantation in the 1860's. This young lady wrote beautifully and her personality comes out as she gives her thoughts, opinions and activities of the day. Starting at age 16 she wrote of going to school at Butterbean Academy and doing homework as well as playing the piano and entertaining. You will get to know who her best friends were and who she hated to see coming for a visit. You get a true glimpse into where the modern southern lady gets her manners, her thoughts, her ideals from. You get to experience where Being Southern Born and Bred started.

About the Author
Woody Woods currently lives in Madison Mississippi but was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. As a young man, his family purchased Mount Holly, an antebellum mansion on Lake Washington in Washington County Mississippi. It was during this time that he developed a deeper appreciation and fascination with Mississippi history, especially the history of the Delta. Woody graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland Mississippi with a degree in fine arts.
