Adrian Kerr is an Egyptologist and Historian of the ancient Middle East. For over thirty years he has been visiting Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, Italy and Israel. He is a specialist on the interaction between the early civilizations of the Middle East and their impact on our lives today. He lectures internationally on these subjects focusing on their relevance to the modern world. Born in England he received his degree from Leeds University. For twenty nine years he has carried out research in Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Israel. From 1980 to 1983 he lived full time in Saudi Arabia conducting research on the ancient history of the great civilizations of the Middle East. He is a specialist on the development and interaction between these ancient civilizations. Adrian has a particular passion for the history and construction techniques of the temples, palaces, obelisks and pyramids in Egypt, Nubia and Assyria (modern Iraq). He lectures at Edison State College and internationally on Ancient Egypt, Assyria, Old Testament Archaeology, and the history of the Middle East. Professor Kerr is a published author on Ancient Egypt, and regularly appears on television and radio ancient history programs. His latest book (and DVD) Ancient Egypt and us was published in February 2009 and focuses on Ancient Egypt s impact on our lives today. He writes a weekly blog on the recent ancient discoveries in Egypt. He visits Egypt twice a year to conduct research and is currently writing a book on the Black Pharaohs to be published in 2010. All talk and book proceeds go to the not for profit UC Epigraphic Survey in Luxor.
