Sandra Gunn has penned a book that is both a memoir and a parenting guide. It is an advocate for creative parenting skills developed from the point of view of children. These captivating stories reveal that what matters in parenting is the child's perspective. Ms. Gunn advocates emphasizing creativity, flexibility, and imagination in the education of our children. Above all she is committed to observing how the world looks from the mind's eye of the child. Peek-A-Boo, I See You! offers stories of how children enter life with enormous curiosity and creativity. From sliding down a frozen driveway in a cardboard sled, to watching the first seeds bloom in a vegetable garden, to building a tree house or having a neighborhood art show, are all stories demonstrating how children are capable of living a most imaginative life, filled with wonder and joy. They become the teachers!

About the Author:

Sandra Gunn, a former educator in the public school system, received a grant to develop and teach an innovative humanities course for high school students. Upon completion of this program, she left public education and joined the Council of the Great City Schools in Washington, DC where she helped develop curriculum options for the great city schools. This work was designed to build a bridge between the relevance of what a student learns and its practical applications to his life. With the birth of her two sons she established a home school with pioneering concepts devoted to the exploration of their natural curiosities. The curriculum was based upon the concept that every child is an artist who has a need to express himself; that each question may have more than one answer; that success and failure are part of the same process; that mistakes are positive because they encourage us to change direction; and that life and play are the same. Children learn what has purpose in their lives. She lives in Maryland. Read her blog at www.peekabooparenting.com
