Somewhere between here and there, Marcus stands alone before the absent door, trapped in a room with little recollection of who he is or how long he's been there. His mind has unraveled in his old age, haunted by forgotten memories. But when he slips into the deep sleep, this lost soul will become young again, entangled in the collective unconscious of Oblivion from which all existence is woven, spiraling out in infinite parallel universes like ripples in a pond. Pendulum Rift is a story of heaven and hell, love and revolution, and discovery of what lies beyond the mind's veil. They say you can never step in the same river twice, and the same goes for skinny dipping in the collective unconscious. It is alive. And for the dreamers and the dreamed in between, there is nothing more dangerous.

Virgil Blackwell was born outside Boston, Massachusetts in 1981. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York where he works as a freelance journalist. He spends long hours in the dark, pondering the collective unconscious, and is prone to time-traveling naps, which sound cool but are really just a nuisance. He is hard at work on his second novel and a collection of short stories.
