9780615559018: The Phony Litvinenko Murder (Litvinenko Murder Series)

Who was Alexander Litvinenko and why was he murdered? Many news stories and books have addressed that question. But now research has shown they were drawn into a massive hoax.

Litvinenko has been called an ex-KGB spy murdered on orders from Vladimir Putin. Author Dunkerley takes apart that popular media story piece by piece.

No matter what you've read elsewhere, hard evidence now shows that the mainstream story about Litvinenko is a sheer fabrication.

For instance, you may have heard that on Litvinenko's deathbed he accused Putin of poisoning him. That was a fake news story. The hoaxer has even confessed. Dunkerley names him in this book. The book also presents evidence that Litvinenko never was actually a spy. And there are even more revelations that will amaze you.

The principal theme of The Phony Litvinenko Murder is the extant media hoax that fooled the world. You'll see substantive examples documented. They name names.

The author was commissioned by the International Federation of Journalists to investigate the reportage about Litvinenko. Dunkerley presented his exclusive peer-reviewed revelations at the organization's World Congress. Now you can get the same penetrating insights from this book.

Dunkerley says his research neither exonerates nor implicates Putin, but instead proves his accusers to be liars. He uniquely takes on the mainstream fabrications that have misled so many people.

From the Author:

The Alexander Litvinenko affair is highly controversial. Strong opinions are advanced by those believing Vladimir Putin is a disreputable and dangerous leader. Equally strong opinions are offered by those who admire him. Contentiousness has led many to support their opinions with allegations instead of facts. It's hard to know what to think.

This book doesn't take sides. Instead, I analyze allegations that have been made, and reality-test them. I look for supportive factual bases, and when I find none I document any discrepancy. A number of who-done-it theories have been popularized in the media. I've found little reliable data to support them. So where does that leave you if you simply want to know what happened to Litvinenko? All the fabricated allegations that abound are a real obstacle.

This book will help you sort out all that's been reported and that which will be reported in the future. It will help you to see who's telling the truth and who's not. My conclusions have disappointed some who are committed to a preconceived Putin-did-it notion. But the thrust of my work is to neither establish nor deny culpability. It is simply to call out those with an ax to grind, who are uttering unsupported claims to convince others.

Book Description Omnicom Press. Paperback. Book Condition: New. 148 pages. Dimensions: 7.9in. x 5.0in. x 0.4in.News flash: Former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko was murdered on orders of Vladimir Putin. Now, The Phony Litvinenko Murder exposes the truth: Widespread media reports dont check out. Did Putin really order the murder The facts uncovered by the author dont support that. The sensational murder accusation appears a fabrication. Was Litvinenko really a spy Thats in serious contention. Was he actually murdered Now after five years that has never been officially established. Media outlets called the Litvinenko poisoning a James Bond mystery. Author William Dunkerley says its more like Alice in Wonderland a fantasy adventure thats full of illogical nonsense. The Phony Litvinenko Murder offers an insightful analysis. It cuts through the fantastical theories and gives you the unvarnished truth. Why was the media so interested in the previously little-known Litvinenko Why were news accounts of Litvinenkos poisoning flawed Dunkerley presents a methodical analysis of the news stories, along with a timeline of coverage. He debunks the major premises found in the news. While exposing the medias dirty little secret, he explains how the nonsensical Litvinenko story became mainstream. In 2007 Dunkerley was commissioned by the organizers of the World Congress of the International Federation of Journalists to study the media coverage of the Litvinenko poisoning. The Congress was held in Moscow, where he presented his report. Now, this book serves both to reflect upon and update his findings. According to Dunkerley, the most newsworthy aspect of the Litvinenko case is how a specious story was pumped up into top headlines around the world. The Phony Litvinenko Murder is not intended as an investigative piece into the circumstances of Litvinenkos death or as another dramatic re-telling of the sensationalized plotline. Its focus is on media coverage gone awry, serving as a wake-up call to the worlds media outlets, and as a cautionary tale for consumers of international news. This item ships from multiple locations.
