Lois Lindstrom Devoted Arvada advocate and former schoolteacher Lois Lindstrom has been recording and preserving Arvada’s history since 1971 when she first realized no one knew the story of Arvada and its founders. She was the founder and first president of the Arvada Historical Society and in the midst of creating a history museum, became a leader of the Arvada Cultural Committee that was instrumental in the building of the now world-class Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities. She is the author of numerous books and articles detailing the importance of such local landmarks and institutions as the Shrine of Saint Anne, Arvada Presbyterian Church and Jefferson County Public Schools. Due to Lois’ diligence and determination, Arvada’s storied past, including Lewis Ralston’s gold discovery, can take its rightful place in the history of Colorado.
