Writing Fight Autism and win was a labor of love and a challenge. The three authors do not live in the same state so we had to corroborate long distance to bring it all together. Jan and Tressie spent countless hours online writing and rewriting. Due to technical difficulties Rebecca opted to answer questions on the chat forum rather than to join the writing sessions, but she did manage to contribute a couple of chapters to the final product. It was rewarding to be putting together a work that we hoped would be so helpful to parents just like ourselves who had to struggle to find answers.
Another challenge in writing was determining how to list our names as authors. Do we list by seniority on the forums, by how much we each contributed, or maybe by experience? After much deliberation, in the end, we decided to list by alphabetical order. We were happy to finally be able to offer a short cut to chelation and biomedical therapies to countless parents during their journey through Autism.
