It's time to unleash fresh imagination and a sense of adventure about what the church could be. If you are weary of being constrained by boxed-in thinking about the ways we were "supposed" to function and you are ready to instigate truly breakthrough thinking about the church, this books was written for you. This is the story of how we might once again become a church that turns the world upside down. We live in the midst of seismic change on every level of life. The destabilizing nature of that change has unleashed a global conversation about the nature, mission, effectiveness, and relevance of the church. This book contributes to that conversation by taking us back to the book of Acts in a fresh way. In Acts, Luke does not give us a paint-by-numbers guide, but the unvarnished story of that early church learning to follow Jesus and his mission. By looking closely at the turning points God used to shape their DNA, we will discover our own DNA and its revolutionary power to transform the church and our impact today.

About the Author:

Dr. Gary Mayes serves as Executive Director of ChurchNEXT, a division of Church Resource Ministries (CRM). In this role, he leads the work of more than 125 staff on fourteen pioneering teams who work worldwide to transform the impact of the church, by helping leaders and churches succeed in making disciples and transforming their communities. Prior to becoming a missionary with CRM, Gary served in pastoral roles for 20 years and has been training, consulting, and writing for church leaders for more than 30. He is committed to the church that is as well as the church that could be. The mission of his life is simple: help leaders and churches rediscover what it means to live on mission every day. Gary also blogs about the lessons of life and leadership that they never taught us in school. See: www.aboutLEADING.com
