“This is one of the best textbooks that I have read inyears. I enjoyed reviewing it, and found it well-written andthorough in its coverage of the traditional earth science aspectsof geoarchaeology. The non-traditional aspects were intriguing andequally thorough... I predict that this book will become thetextbook of choice for geoarchaeology classes for severalyears.”

Review:

"The textbook "Practical and Theoretical Geoarchaeology"deserves special consideration...with its scientific contents andhigh standard printing art is a significant step in the developmentof a new branch - ecological archaeology."
T. F. Urushadze, Annals of Agrarian Science, December2012
"There is a new exceptionally good geoarchaeology text - itis written for you. It tells you what a soil is, what a sedimentis, is easy to read well illustrated and designed for the fieldarchaeologist and not just the environmental and soil scientist. Itgives practical information and general information (and includeslab methods etc) and in my opinion it isthe best textbook on thesubject going and is suitable for all archaeologists."
Dr Michael J Allen, Environmental Manager, Wessex Archaeologyand Reviews Editor, The Prehistoric Society

"Practical and Theoretical Geoarchaeology gives athorough introduction to the discipline, allowing the reader togain a broad understanding of its possible applications ... A goodbasis for undergraduate and masters students approachinggeoarchaelology."

"Practical and Theoretical Geoarchaeology provides acomprehensive introduction to an increasingly importantsub-discipline of archaeology ... ideal as both a comprehensiveintroduction to the subject and as a reference."
