The Logan Stone is a rock of Cornish granite, balancing on another so delicately that it can be "logged" or caused to move. there is a famous logan rock at Treen, near Land's End. The title of this book of poems reflects one of the themes of the collection: root-starvation through physical exile and family deaths. The other dominant themes are woman and sexual love. the sequence Computer 70: Dreams and Lovepoems arose from the feeling that, in an aage of instant and universal communication, private emotions and public events are no longer distinct, however much we might wish them to be.
