Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Scarce. First edition, first impression, of Jonathan Coe's fourth book, What a carve up! Ex-library, and priced accordingly, with a range of defects, including a torn-out front endpaper, four library service stamps (it was acquired on 20 June 1994 and then officially withdrawn from stock, for sale as seen), some heavy rubbing to the bottom edges of the blue boards, and pushing-in of the top and bottom of the spine, and some light creases down the spine. The dust jacket is not price-clipped. It's rubbed and frayed along the edges and at the corners, and at the top and bottom of the spine. There are various other minor signs of shelf wear and handling. As stated, it is an ex-library book. HOWEVER, it is a scarce first edition, first impression, generally very costly, and it does look smarter in a new protective sleeve. Plus it's an excellent read. One might even say, a corker!.
