Synopsis

Former UK Government UFO investigator Nick Pope has written the definitive book on the alien abduction mystery, delving into folklore, the contactee movement, and more modern claims that people have not just seen UFOs, but encountered extraterrestrials. The Uninvited also examines the reaction of governments, and of the scientific community, as well as examining the world's most famous alien contact cases, and highlighting the common threads that bind them together. Nick Pope devotes a significant portion of the book to detailing a number of cases that he investigated personally, before drawing things together by discussing the various theories that might explain what lies behind this fascinating mystery.

About the Author

Nick Pope works for the Ministry of Defence and for much of the early 90s he was responsible for carrying out official research and investigation into the UFO phenomenom. His controversal conclusions were that some UFOs were extra-terrestrial in origin. Concerned by the defence and national security implications of these unauthorised intrusions into British airspace, Nick wrote "Open Skies, Closed Minds" in an attempt to bring this information to the public's attention. It was an instant bestseller, staying in the Sunday Times top ten for over ten weeks. Nick Pope continues to research and investigate UFO sightings and alien abductions in a private capacity. He writes for various magazines and is in constant demand on the lecture circuit.
