Synopsis

Chris Taggart is a ruthless, driven, real estate entrepreneur, whose buildings have changed the skyline of New York, and who, despite his hard-won wealth and power, can still pour concrete and carry a hod as well as cut a billion-dollar deal with the sharks of Wall Street and the big banks.

Young, handsome, irresistible to women, Taggart has won it all with his bare hands and fierce ambition. But his dazzling success can never erase the bitter memory of his father's death at the hands of the Mob--and Taggart sets out to use his wealth and power to destroy the men whom he holds responsible.

It is a secret vendetta--a war, in fact--that Taggart launches single-handedly against the Five Families of New York. It pits him against some of the toughest men in organized crime--as well as his own brother, a crusading assistant U.S. attorney, one of the Strikeforce prosecutors. Taggart risks his fortune, his reputation, finally his life, to get revenge--only to find that he has merely become one of them, that his triumph over criminals has turned him into a bigger and more dangerous criminal than any Godfather.

From the Inside Flap

Revenge is a dish best savored cold. When the racketeers killed their father, Chris and Tony Taglione both swore they'd never forget. Tony went to Harvard Law School and vowed to nail the Mafia in the courts. Chris stepped into his father's shoes in the building business--and that meant dealing with the Cirillo family.

But now the Taglione brothers have come of age. Tony is a brilliant young attorney working with the FBI Strikeforce against organized crime. Chris Taggart is the entrepreneur who has raised Manhattan's tallest spire.

Chris too wants to destroy the mobs--but his methods are none too pretty. And when he falls in love with the dangerous Helen Rizzolo, Tony has every reason to suspect his brother's motives...

INTERNATIONALLY BESTSELLING AUTHOR JUSTIN SCOTT HAS CREATED IN RAMPAGE A MESMERIZING HIGH-TENSION SHOCKER OF UNDERWORLD BRUTALITY--AND THE NIGHTMARE VENGEANCE IT PROVOKES.

From the Back Cover

Praise for RAMPAGE!

CLIVE CUSSLER --"A nightmarish excursion of revenge, with everything going for it: tension, pace--and the sheer fascination of great storytelling!"

FRED MUSTARD STEWART (author of Ellis Island and The Titan)--"A spellbinding book--one of those rare novels you can't put down until you've finished the last page, and which deliver all the way through in excitement and high drama."

DAVID MORRELL (author of First Blood)--"Justin Scott's Rampage gives a stunning new twist to the expression 'war on crime.' The dizzying action ranges from Manhattan's towering spires to the labyrinths of the city's underworld; its plot has the speed and impact of a jackhammer!"
