Grade 5-8--Two titles for dedicated fans of the game. Horrigan has compiled a wide array of football trivia in a ques tion-and-answer format. Most deal with the professional ranks, but information on the college game is included. An swers range from half a page to several pages; some are straightforward pre sentations of fact, while responses to the more open-ended questions are lively, opinionated, and could start some debate. Although this book is a browser's delight, it has little use be yond that. Some interesting tables are included; standard black-and-white photographs match up with the ques tions and answers. Korch presents a good explanation of the history and complex aspects of football for those looking for a more sophisticated over view of the game than can be found in other sources. Diagrams of the plays fill many of the pages, and a few black- and-white action photographs are also included. The glossary of football terms includes over 80 entries. The book is strongest in explaining the historical changes in football over the years, and weaker on recent developments in to day's game.
