In my teens, I saw Elvis perform live three times -- once in Las Vegas, once at Madison Square Garden, and once at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. Big Elvis fan, you say; well, I wasn't really until I started going to the concerts with my older brother, who was a huge fan. The Las Vegas show was the most awesome -- staying awake for the midnight show wasn't easy when I was 14 or 15, but my brother kept nudging me whenever I started drifting off. People seemed to have traveled from all around the United States to be there; I think a woman who sat near me was from Kentucky.
