About the Author:

Paul Creswick (1866-1947) is the author of numerous children’s books, most notably Robin Hood and His Adventures. His other works include In Ælfred’s Days, Under the Black Raven, Hasting the Pirate, and The Smugglers of Barnard’s Head.

N.C. Wyeth (1882–1945) began his artistic career as a young adult. Born in Needham, Massachusetts, Wyeth traveled the American West extensively and drew what he saw. His prolific career includes three thousand works and more than one hundred book illustrations, including those for a majority of the Scribner Illustrated Classics series.

Book Description Scribner's, 1984. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good- Slipcase: Fair. Limited to 500 specially bound and numbered copies-this is #309. Colored illustrated endpapers, as well as, 8 color illustrations by N. C. Wyeth. Top edges gilt and nylon ribbed sewn in as a book mark. Spine is lightly sunned and speckled. The front and rear boards have a few discolored areas near the extremities. The interior is exceptional. The slipcase is water damaged, scuffed , soiled, and on two of the panels, the cloth is separating from the boards; it is devoid of any aesthetic appeal and serves only to protect the volume from further wear.
