Synopsis

Fresh, inventive, and inviting approaches to preaching. The Abingdon Women's Preaching Annual--Series 3, Year C offers sermon and worship planning resources that are fresh, inventive, and inviting to the hearers of God's word. Compiled and edited by Beverly Zink-Sawyer, this lectionary-based sermon anthology offers the unique voices and viewpoints of women preachers who explore and grapple with the Scripture while attempting to provide a discerning word for the people who follow God. With depth, insight, and thought-provoking commentary, these preachers openly share their joys, struggles, and illuminations concerning the biblical text with others who do the same week after week. Each of the featured Sundays in the AWPA includes reflections on the scriptural text, a complete sermon brief, and suggestions for worship (for example, calls to worship, prayers, and benedictions). A Scripture index is included for locating specific texts. Fox the lecitonary cycle that beings December 1, 2003. Contributors are some of the most popular women preaching today.
