Meet Matthew. He's your typical third grader. He likes to play baseball, has a hard time remembering to do his homework, and wishes his parents would give him a bigger allowance. Then one day something very unusual happens to Matthew: He discovers he can control people with his mind. Now it doesn't matter if he does his homework or not, he doesn't get in trouble, and suddenly his parents give him a raise -- without his even asking for it! This is the best superpower any kid could ever ask for -- or so Matthew thinks, until his power starts to spin out of control!

Suzanne Williams has written several picture books, including Library Lil, Mommy Doesn't Know My Name, and My Dog Never Says Please. She is also the author of the Princess Power and Fairy Blossoms series. Suzanne Williams lives in Renton, Washington. From School Library Journal:
Grade 1-3--Matthew McGhee often forgets to do his homework. He is also in the process of losing his best friend, who has begun to play more often with other children. Suddenly, the eight-year-old seems to be able to influence the thoughts of those around him, but he soon learns that to have this ability can be a problem. At times the language seems overly sophisticated and too colloquial for newly independent readers, but Williams does a good job of creating a "typical" third-grade boy who could be a little better organized and who is going to make a new friend. Lively illustrations appear throughout.--Edith Ching, St. Albans School, Mt. St. Alban, Washington, DC
