Susan Myers is an experienced birder and naturalist based in Melbourne, Australia. She has led tours throughout Asia for Victor Emanuel Nature Tours for more than fifteen years.
"Myers is clearly an expert on the birds of Borneo, and she has gathered a lot of information together. Birds of Borneo offers sound scholarship, solid coverage of subspecies, concise general range and status descriptions, fine treatment of habitat and behavior, and good illustrations. I'm delighted at its publication and look forward to using it in the field."--Rosa Ann Rowlett, Field Guides Inc.

About the book >.>.> Climate Borneo lies between the latitudes 7-N and 4?5. The climate can be classified as moist tropical with the equator passing roughly through the centre of -the island. Temperatures average 25-35?C in the lowlands throughout the year, and humidity is always high. Borneo is influenced by two monsoonal systems. The north-west monsoon from November to April is wetter than the so-called dry south-east monsoon from May to October. Monthly rainfall generally exceeds 200 mm but peaks in November, with a second peak in April. June to August are the driest months, but even then rainfall is never less than 100 mm a month. Rainfall is generally higher in North Borneo (defined below under 'Range & status) and lowest on the east coast where the influence of the north-west monsoon is weaker, as most of the rain has fallen in the central mountain ranges. The mountain ranges also influence climate locally. In the lowlands the warm, everwet climate supports large expanses of rich lowland evergreen rainforest. Habitats The main.
