Many families in Europe endured hardships during and following World War II. One of these families was the Nagys of St. Johann, Hungary: Andreas, Anna, and their ten children, Julianna, Anna, Franz, Josef, Maria, Elizabeth, Andreas, Karl, Pete and Erna. These are their stories of lives in St. Johann before the war, dealing with the German occupation of the town during the war, and living under a Communist regime afterwards. The family left life-long homes to escape oppressive conditions and faced the challenges of starting new lives in countries with unfamiliar customs and languages. The Nagy family persevered and created new lives on the other side of the world, where they flourish to this day.
