The Raymond Chandler Mystery Map of Los Angeles, circa 1932 & 2014: A Vintage Art Deco & Modern HIGH-TECH Map. On the front: The Raymond Chandler Mystery Map, includes the Vintage map designed & drawn by Karl M. Leuschner in 1932. For the contemporary map all the hand written text was removed. Changes, corrections & additions were made, and the text was replaced with a modern computer font. The Key was enlarged & Chandler locations were added. 287 QR Codes were created & added to the border & on the back side, showing locations related to Raymond Chandler & Philip Marlowe, his fictional detective. Also INCLUDED are 50 QR codes of newly discovered sites that real Los Angeles P.I. Sam B. Marlowe escorted Raymond Chandler to in the '30s. On the back: Two additional vintage maps: "The Kirkman-Harriman Pictorial and Historical Map of Los Angeles County," AND "From Shop to Shop on Hollywood Boulevard," a 1930 Map compiled and drawn by Cormac E. Mc Connell C.E. The Kirkman Map is rare & unique. Changes have been made to portions to make it more legible. Kirkman, the man who drew the map, organized, equipped & trained troop G, Ogalala Sioux Scouts, commanded a detachment on a Southern Pacific train during the "Great Pullman Strike" of 1894, and led gallantry at El Caney in Cuba during the Spanish American War. He was an officer, a gentleman and a hero. By the 1920s he was in Los Angeles writing articles for the Los Angeles Times. "From Shop to Shop on Hollywood Boulevard" is based on a 1930 Map compiled & drawn by Cormac E. Mc Connell C.E. The back also includes the covers, the Kirkman map Key and two crime scene photos from the Doheny murder-suicide, referred to as "The Cassidy Case" in "The High Window."
