When a single mother is wrongly accused of murder, Zack Taylor must work to clear her name. Not an easy task, as everyone in the Maine town of Mill Springs thinks she's guilty. Zack finds, however, plenty of people who wanted the victim dead. He discovers that when small-town politics mix with big-time ambition, the combination can be lethal. A Fall From Grace cascades like a growing avalanche, through revenge, greed, illicit sex, corruption, murder, and the difficult choices that must be made to go on living. There are those who do the right thing, and those who choose to commit desperate, horrible acts. As the events around him spiral out of control, Zack begins to do the same.

A Fall From Grace details a series of fictional events involving revenge, greed, illicit sex, small-town political corruption, murder, and the difficult choices that must be made to go on living. There are those who do the right thing, and those who make bad choices to commit desperate, horrible acts. This book is nothing like any real town or people I have known, but few want to read about a nice place with all nice people.
The title reflects the theme of the book, with people, especially those in positions of power, who seem to have everything, causing destruction to others, and inevitably, to themselves. By going down the wrong path, a person can destroy all that they stand for and have worked for. All our actions have consequences, whether or not we think they are for the right reasons.

A longtime follower of mystery fiction, the author has crafted a hero in the mold of Travis McGee, Doc Ford, and John Cain, a moral man at heart who finds himself faced with difficult choices in a dangerous world, and one at odds with himself and his new environment. Maine is very different from the mean, big-city streets of New York, Boston, or L.A., and Zack Taylor must learn quickly if he is to survive.
