Colleen Nye was a budding writer at an early age with her love of books and her adoration of jotting down her vast imaginative stories in her journals along with her longing to travel and go on adventures. Through school days, she won awards for her poetry and short stories including a Sarah Endres Award for Young Writers. She was also published in a few smaller magazines and newspapers. In high school, Colleen started a Poetry Club to be able to share writing styles and projects with her fellow students, which she loved and drew inspiration off learning the versatility of creative outlooks from others. As an adult, Colleen branched out and worked as a freelance writer for corporations and non-profit organizations, writing press releases for newspapers, magazines and online blogs and web sites. She also worked with politicians to create campaign and promotional fliers, bios and web site blurbs. Other works she has done have been research and photography for a few Mid-Michigan sites highlighted in the book Paranormal Lansing by Nicole Bray and Robert DuShane. She s also worked with several companies, creating their how-to articles and product descriptions. Through her years of writing and experiencing different styles of the art, her heart lies in creative writing and sharing her imaginative stories that run through her mind with others. She now lives in Mid-Michigan with her two daughters, both budding creative thinkers. Together, they share their very different views of the world and inspire each other to see the world through each other s eyes and create many, many fun imaginative adventures to share.
