The Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) is an exam that students take in order to gain admission into one of the eight New York Specialized High Schools:

Students interested in attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts must audition. Admission to this specialized high school is based on academic records and audition. The SHSAT exam is not required if you are seeking admission to this school.

About the Author
Anayet Chowdhury, CEO & Co-Founder of Einstein Academy of Innovative Learning is an author, entrepreneurial thinker, and educator who has helped hundreds of students gain acceptance into top colleges and high schools. Anayet discovered his passion for teaching in high school, where in his free time, conducted cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. His cancer project was awarded multiple gold-medal prizes and he had the privilege to meet President Obama. Anayet is also a Founding Board Member of Teptu, a non-profit sponsored by Microsoft aimed to find the most innovative students in the realms of S.T.E.M research and sustainable entrepreneurship. Aside from his love in science and education, Anayet is very much involved in technology start-ups. He is the Co-Founder of Microphone Rocks, a mobile application that is currently in the works of creating a prototype wireless microphone to revolutionize the field of wireless remote audio and video synchronization. Anayet also serves as an advisor to multiple startup companies and is the author of the book "SHSAT First Edition: Test Prep." and "Catholic High School Entrance Exams (TACHS /HSPT) 2016-2017 Test Prep" In his spare time, he enjoys learning to play the guitar and piano.
