I Love You... It’s The Weekend is a colorful picture book written in verse. The illustrations were created using a combination of stained glass, tile, polymer clay, and copper wire. This heartwarming story is a conversation between a busy working mom, and a little boy wanting his mother’s attention. After working full time, and having household responsibilities, the mom finds herself wanting more time with her son. She has set the expectation of weekends very high, but continues to struggle with balancing her professional and family life. From the child’s perspective, all that he wants is to play with his mom. The characters really love spending time together, and eventually have their big weekend moment in the end. I Love You... It’s The Weekend is a story that both parents and children can easily relate to. This book is a great way for working parents to start a conversation with their children.
