"I was definitely impressed with your book. Your 'For Beginners' title is
a nice invitation for an easy exploration of the idea of Western Sidereal
Astrology. It's simple to pick up and will fascinate technical people with
your time calculations. At the same time, your speculum concept will tease
interpretive people like me. I'm glad you wrote it!"

"A real student of astrology will have a field day reading Western Sidereal
Astrology for Beginners." - Gerald D'Souza, Princeton NJ
Review by Mary Plumb, The Mountain Astrologer, August/September 2016:
"I don't think there is another book like this - a text for those who are
interested in not only understanding the celestial mechanics of Western
Sidereal Astrology (WSA), which takes precession into account, but also
working with Primary Directions, i.e., directing the angles of a natal
chart (not the same as Solar Arc directions and notoriously difficult to
calculate). The author explains precession, the differences between
tropical and sidereal astrology (which measures in Right Ascension and
Declination), and more - on the way to showing how to calculate Primary
Directions (which employs a calculator) and tables of sidereal times (aka
speculum)for a birth or other event. I can't say I've tried the
calculations in this book, but I see how clearly written it is and am
intrigued by the author's final comment. 'Now that you know how to
calculate the sidereal times at which planets and stars rise and set on
Earth using Right Ascension and Declination, you will really appreciate
the NASA website which has really great photos of planetary bodies and events.' "
