The pleasures of coloring and of crisp, incisive, and moving quotations are united in this book of Shakespeare’s best advice--illustrated with original art, inspired by classical works and ready to color.
Experienced colorists and newcomers alike will find uncomplicated, stress-reducing fulfillment in creating their own illuminated manuscripts of the Bard’s words. There is no wrong way to color these: your way is the right way; unlocking your creativity is the goal.
Looking for renewal and refreshment in the midst of your busy day? Spend a few minutes with Shakespeare’s pithy and elegant wisdom—and with the appealing graphics, waiting for your colors, that complement each of these timeless insights.
This book contains 42 pages of original art to color, each backed by a blank page. In the artwork, gray lines have been used (instead of black) to facilitate color blending, and to produce a more natural-looking result. See the Look Inside feature for examples; note that this is not a traditional kid's book with black lines outlining large white spaces, but instead a translation of works such as oil paintings, woodcuts, and watercolors.
Introductory matter and credits bring the page count to 96.
All ages may enjoy this book, though the fine detail of many of the drawings may be challenging for very small children. All elements of the book are suitable for family viewing.
Wise Words from Shakespeare offers alertness-enhancing refreshment and, at the same time, plentiful food for thought.

K. Sherrerd Lowry, Ph.D., received a doctorate degree in Mathematics Education in 2006. Classroom teaching, a stint editing mathematics textbooks for a major publisher, and a love of story—combined with an abiding interest in the graphic arts—have resulted in the children’s math storybooks LC4A and the Big Test and Surprises for Zu-Zu: A Rhyming Counting Book. Both are available as ebooks from Kindle.
LC4A is aimed at students who experience difficulties in solving word problems. It is also available in a paperback version as an omnibus coloring book/workbook/storybook, with expanded problem sets and a Parents’ Guide, from CreateSpace and from Amazon. (The title of that version is: LC4A and the Big Test: A Math-Story Planet Workbook.)
Other books by the author include both ebook and paper editions of Grey Fairy/White Wolf: Three Classic Lang Tales Retold (both with illustrations by the author), and an ebook about communicating online: FORUM FINESSE: A Guide to Impact and Influence in Online Talk.
