The History of the George Washington Holloway Family is a collection of memories, images, poems, documents, and other artifacts that provide a glimpse into the life of a family making its start at the beginning of the 20th century in rural north Georgia. It is the telling of the life of George Holloway, his wife Mary Oliver Holloway, their 12 children and their great love and kinship in the face of a life of poverty and hardships. This book documents the family finding their way through multiple wars, the Great Depression, and societal and religious changes that would alter the course of their lives and that of their children, grandchildren, and generations that would follow. This volume tracks their lives, provides a historical backdrop, and gives an account of the introduction of Churches of Christ in north Georgia and the part in which the family played in the support and propagation of these churches. Constructed with over 250 images, the input of 100+ individual contributors, and information from hours of individual interviews, this book provides a detailed overview of the lives of the George Washington Holloway family that will allow the reader to appreciate the ongoing ripples in time created by this great family. About the Author

Keith Holloway grew up on Boardtown Road in Gilmer County and graduated from Gilmer County High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science with a concentration in information systems from Freed-Hardeman University and later his master’s degree in management with a concentration in information systems from the Florida Institute of Technology. He now resides with his family in Nashville, Tennessee where he is vice president and partner of East Five, a custom software development company specializing in enterprise software development for a variety of industries including healthcare, medical research, music, finance, real estate, hospitality, and business-to-business e-commerce.
