About the Author:

Geoffrey Stokes is Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) in the College of Business at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He is the author of Popper: Philosophy, Politics and Scientific Method (1998). He has been a senior editor (2010 16) of the Australian Journal of Political Science. From 1994 9 he was the editor (politics) for the Australian Journal of Politics and History. In 1985 6 he held a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Center for Philosophy and the History of Science at Boston University.

Ian Ward is Professor of Law at Newcastle University. He has written extensively in the associated areas of public law, legal theory and international order, and has held visiting positions at universities in Canada, the US, France, Italy and Finland.

Michael Leach is the publisher of Orbis Books. A past president and publisher of the Crossroad/Continuum Publishing Group, he has edited and published more than a thousand books, including numerous award-winners. His own books include "I Like Being Married" and the bestseller "I Like Being Catholic," coedited with Therese J. Borchard. He lives in Connecticut.
