Synopsis
It all started with a shooting on a Glasgow street when a man, driven beyong endurance, hit back at a loan-shark who had been squeezing him too hard. Soon, Thane and Moss of Glasgow CID had uncovered a vicious network of extortion and violence which reached into scores of ordinary people's lives. At its centre wasthe ruthless boss they called 'The Tallyman', but more than one innocent, or not-so-innocent, bystander would get hurt before his identity was discovered.

About the Author
Bill Knox began his writing career as a young Glasgow journalist and was variously employed as crime reporter, motoring correspondent and news editor. He wrote twenty-four Thane and Moss books in all as well as many other crime novels. Bill Knox died in March 1999.
