Jonathan Langley is a Marshall Cavendish author. From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 1-A well-conceived picture book. Daisy's cat meets her at the corner after school each day. Then one afternoon, unbeknownst to Lupin, school is closed. The feline goes to meet the child as usual, but she doesn't show up. While he waits, he imagines all of the possible places she could be, such as at a birthday party or on a field trip. Meanwhile, Daisy is at home looking everywhere for her pet. Lupin begins to worry that a big scary dog has chased the girl away or that a giant bird has captured her, while Daisy wonders if a lion or a wicked witch may be responsible for her cat's disappearance. The two of them search many of the same places, but keep missing one another. Finally, they each decide that the other has gone to a new home. Daisy leaves Lupin a trail of kitty treats, just in case, and eventually, the sad animal returns. He follows the treats and finds the girl curled up in his basket. The final page features the bewildered pair with the caption, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" The colorful cartoons are a hilarious match for the story. Youngsters will enjoy this light and amusing tale.
