About the Author
Sir Osbert Lancaster produced several books on architecture, and from 1939 onwards he produced cartoons for the Daily Express, using his character Maudie Littlehampton to satirise upper-class preoccupations. He died in 1986. Anne Scott-James is the author of a string of successful books including several gardening classics.

The text is engagingly illustrated with cartoons by her husband, Osbert Lancaster. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting.
