Synopsis
A photographic survey of conifers which is arranged alphabetically by genus with brief notes on distribution, botanical characteristics and classification, and mention of those species which are of interest to gardeners, nurserymen and landscape designers. There then follows, for each genus, a sequence of photographs of individual species, hybrids and cultivars in a garden or landscape environment. The order of the photographs within species is related to natural relationships and geographical ranges. Appendices include classification of cones and leaves, distribution maps, and a botanical classification of conifers.
