Nine years after this book's British publication, the bloom isn't off the topic it covers: making flowers from paper and fabric. In fact, there's no doubt that other craftspeople should pattern their instructions after the Biddles' lead, with life-size templates, colored illustrations for each stage of the process, and a text that is easy to follow. For certain, many of the materials do represent a considerable investment, as does crafting time--which can also include dyeing efforts to achieve just the right shade and hue. Plus, the directions for assembling bridal bouquets and arranging home blooms may tax nonaesthetic perspectives. Glossary of tools and equipment appended. Barbara Jacobs
