Packed with over 100 ideas to transform leftover fabric scraps into charming gifts and accessories for your home, this book is an inspiring read for crafters everywhere.

The simplest of skills are required to achieve the lovely handmade look which typifies the projects in this book. All the information you need is provided in a basic techniques section which covers patchwork, applique, simple hand embroidery, quilting and fabric painting.

The projects are grouped into 21 themes. Decorative motifs include suns and moons, leaves and flowers, shells and fish, fruit and vegetables, hearts, teddies and toys and farmyard animals. There are also special celebration motifs to help you make birthdays and holidays memorable for your family and friends.

Review:
More cute than cutesy, these projects embody scrap crafting with a country flair. The charming and plentiful folk-art ideas are easily whipped up from craft-room leftovers. Outfit your kitchen with sunflower-bedecked accessories; accent your bathroom with nautical or fish motifs; fill a child's room with star-themed items; concoct delightful holiday decor; create pillows, wall hangings, table settings, aprons, door stops, even a hot-water bottle cover. Not only will you have nice-looking things to perk up your home or to give to friends, you'll also find countless ways to recycle all those odd bits of fabric and trimmings that are too small for major projects but just too good to throw away. --Amy Handy
