Syber's Books
(Melbourne, VIC, Australia)

Book Description Hardcover (Original Cloth). Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Tony Roberts -- Dustwrapper (illustrator). First Edition. 275 pp., colour illustrated dustwrapper. APART FROM THE BROWNING OF THE PAPER USED IN THE BOOK, there is no damage to describe for the book. The dustjacket has a couple of marks to the underside, and a creasing of the top right of the rear panel. The author's stunning achievement in this book is to imagine this world of the 1930s -- both the actual life the child lead, only half comprehending, and the world the adult reconstructs, imperfectly remembering. Inseparable and irreconcilable, their mingled versions of the past exquisitely capture the shifting texture of experienced itself, in what is bound to become a classic novel of a child's life. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Tony Roberts -- Dustwrapper. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Literature & Literary; ISBN: 0718126858. ISBN/EAN: 9780718126858. Inventory No: 0244568. Seller Inventory # 0244568
