9780721208732: A Samurai Speaks

Recently, in Japan, a manuscript came to light written by a Shinto priest in 1840. It told of a young villager, Ichijiro, taken over and made ill by a spirit who several hundred years ago committed ritual suicide - hara-kiri. The spirit had since been earthbound and could not leave until a stone monument was erected to record his passing. This was finally achieved after twenty-two hours, all faithfully recorded in conversation with a Shinto priest. During this conversation the earthbound spirit gave the listeners much information on the other world. Whilst this was happening, Ichijiro's life was slowly ebbing away. When all hope had been given up a spirit form of a samurai warrior appeared at midnight, who, commanding him to "wake up", expressed deep regret for having been a nuisance and proceeded to run his hands over the stricken Ichijiro. To his great amazement, Ichijiro found himself fully recovered. The author gives the reader much information con many aspects of spiritual life and many famous Spiritualists, among them the Fox Sisters, Dr. Carl Wickland and many more. 'A fascinating account of spiritual possession.'
