Sissy Sawyer, the chain-smoking, fast-talking, fortune-telling amateur sleuth, and her daughter-in-law, police artist Molly, return in this follow-up to Touchy and Feely (2007). When an elevator in a Cincinnati office building opens, revealing the murdered bodies of a man and a woman, it’s only the first of several crimes seemingly perpetrated by the same offender—although how one person could commit these crimes, essentially being in two places simultaneously, is a mystery that perhaps only Sissy, with her fortune-telling cards, can solve. Masterton is best known for his horror fiction, and this lighthearted story might come as a bit of a surprise to readers expecting his typical fare. But Molly and Sissy make an entertaining, engaging team, and readers will soon be caught up in the story and unable to put it away. --David Pitt
