About the Author
Tess Gerritsen left a successful practice as an internist to raise her children and concentrate on her writing. She gained nationwide acclaim for her first novel of medical suspense, ""Harvest, "" which became a ""New York Times"" bestseller, followed by ""Life Support"" and ""Bloodstream"" -- all of which are available from Pocket Books. She lives in Maine.

Someone from the Tavistocks’ past doesn’t want Beryl to succeed and will do whatever it takes to stop her. This book reprints in hardcover one of Gerritsen’s older, stand-alone romantic suspense novels, originally published in 1994. Beryl is not a weak character, but she does depend a lot on Richard.
