Review:

"...(the text) may be considered the best text of its kind to have been published to date. It contains an enormous amount of significant information that is presented in an informative and lucid manner."
Roberta Park, University of Berkeley (review of first edition)

“An incredibly comprehensive overview of the evolving discipline of kinesiology and its relationship to the field of physical activity. Very suitable as an introductory text for departments that have made a transformation from solely a physical education orientation to a variety of orientations included under the title kinesiology. Virtually all books that have been written as introductory for the field deal only with perspectives about physical education.”
Robert N. Singer, PhD
Chair of Department of Exercise & Sport Sciences
University of Florida (review of the first edition)

“Introduction to Kinesiology will challenge students and faculty alike to rethink assumptions about the profession.
This insightful text plumbs the depths and complexities of our profession.”

R. Scott Kretchmar, PhD
Professor of Exercise and Sport Science
Penn State University (review of the first edition)
