The $900 Honda is one man's personal odyssey through America, driven in a worn-out Honda Civic with over 130,000 miles on it, and camping out in a one-man igloo tent. Beginning in late Fall, the odyssey travels through Canada, New England, the South, the Keys, Memphis, then west.

A writer/sailor who lives aboard and sails his small sloop in Southern California, George Snyder has published more than twenty novels and dozens of short-stories, plus he has written seven screenplays. The $900 Honda is his first non-fiction work, although his articles appear regularly in sailing magazines. Most of his fiction is in the mystery/thriller genre, and he has just launched the Baylor Rumble thriller series. With a job resume that "reads like the yellow pages of the phone book", he has a rich work and travel background to draw from in his writing. Besides cruising under sail, which includes solo voyages from Seattle to Alaska, and a year cruising the Sea of Cortez, George holds an Advanced Open Ocean scuba certification, has motorcycle toured over 100,000 miles, and has an avid interest in photography and travel.
