This book describes how Raoul Wallenberg, a Hero of the Holocaust, could have been rescued or his whereabouts definitely determined except for the betrayal of Russia, Sweden and the United States.

We object to the above review of "A Conspiracy of Indifference: The Raoul Wallenberg Story" as not up to the standards of the Library Journal. The reviewer fails to discuss the book's contents, historic law case, and central theme of U.S. culpability in the Wallenberg affair.
Despite the reviewer's comments, the footnotes are extensive and easy to trace. Though he dismisses everything post-Holocaust as speculative, the book presents numerous, credible sources. The absence of Wallenberg's fate should not discount the facts and efforts to determine his whereabouts.
For a fuller and fairer assessment of the book, we suggest you read the other reviews and endorsements. From the Author:
As a journalist, I have always been interested in the truth, an elusive commodity. When I began my research on Raoul Wallenberg, I had some general knowledge about him, but I never realized how three countries had betrayed him--Russia, Sweden and, worst of all, the United States. While digging through documents in the National Archives and interviewing people directly connected with this case, I became angry and frustrated. Angry because my own country had abandoned a Hero of the Holocaust, who saved 100,000 Hungarian Jews, and frustrated because it was too late to do anything. I hope my book brings to light the callousness in which Russia, Sweden and the United States treated Wallenberg.
