Grade 4-6-Two solid country books. The standard information (culture, history, geography, economy, etc.) is well organized, an introduction gives an overview, and subsequent sections expand on the respective topics. A "Fact File" appears at the beginning of each section and gathers together important data. Both authors present their material in a clear, objective, and accessible style. Profusely illustrated with well-captioned, black-and-white and full-color photographs and graphs, these titles also feature maps of metropolitan areas, and, while the illustrations of the flags are small, they're better than many. A time line graphically compares each country's history with worldwide events and gives readers a historical context. These additions will supplement collections that already own the "Enchantment of the World" series (Children's) and the "Cultures of the World" series (Marshall Cavendish).
