The histories of many parts of the globe are often omitted from the curricula for world history instruction. Yet all peoples and all places should be of interest to the world historian. Furthermore, some of the more frequently studied regions may be influenced by occurrences in these omitted regions. This book offers a brief overview of one way to attain a balance between these two categories of historical information, and why it may be desirable to do so. But as the title implies, it offers 'thoughts' - not 'standards' - about what is possible.
