Synopsis
When my niece needed to undergo the healing process for sexual abuse recovery, I knew I needed to write a guidebook so she could find her way. She needed a guidebook, because the medical model didn't get around to defining posttraumatic stress syndrome until 1994. It's been those of us working in the recovery community who have the expertise, but we hadn't gotten around to producing a guidebook on the topic yet. This is not a workbook, a textbook, nor really a self-help book. It is, rather, a guidebook that gives an overview of the difficult passage of deep healing.
